Disappear Away [Re-recording]

from Almost Night by The Palisades

/

about

J.D.’s heartfelt ode on the ever eternal struggle of attempting to be yourself in a society that prefers you to be like THEM. Larry added some awesome Keith Moon-like drum furies between the J.D.’s slashing guitar hooks in the breaks, pumping up the energy considerably. “Disappear Away” was a staple of many of our 1982 shows. “Forgotten cars and fast guitars is the life that I choose…”

lyrics

It's been the same story since I was young

Somebody telling me to walk and when to run

But you can tell them today

It doesn't matter what they say

I couldn't take it another day

I had no choice but to disappear away

Romeo I am not

Diamonds and money I haven't got

But if love comes that way

I'd just as soon disappear away

Disappear away

Forgotten cars and fast guitars

Is the life that I lead

But you insist that what I do

Is a see through vision empty and blue

But I know that in my soul

The way I've come is the way to go

And if it was any other way

I'd just as soon disappear away

It was a magical time in a magical place…come on in
