‘All Around the World’ was never mixed, nor even finished in its day. The lead vocal we hear here was never meant to be the final vocal, but simply a guide for the band to listen to. Despite the band sounding pretty tight (except for the stumbled beginning), we quixotically never returned to the song (or ‘Guilty’ which was recorded the same day) after the recording of the basic tracks.

Unfortunately, it’s pretty wimpy sounding (especially compared to the re-recorded version), I think, primarily because of JD’s guitar tone, which, of course, is only a scratch. Left without leads, in 1996, JD added the missing guitar solos to both ‘All Around the World’ and ‘Guilty’
